Why Blame Him?

I’ve been “brewing” on something for a couple of days, so I thought I would get it off my chest this morning before I head to work.

Last week a lady was telling me that at her Church the preacher has been telling the people that the reason the economy is so bad is that God is testing people.  God brings these hardships so that people will turn to Him and trust Him and love Him.

Would any parent consider raising their children like that?  No.  The Bible talks about God as being our Father.  What kind of Father brings hurt, harm and disaster on his children so that they will love him more?

Sometimes I get sick and tired of people blaming God for the foolish choices that people have made.  Why do some preachers keep pushing people down, instead of lifting them up.

So I guess that since God is doing all of these things to “test” us, we should just accept it.  Endure.  Suffer.  That’s the life God wants you to live.  The more you suffer the more you prove your love to Him.

Baloney!

The God of the Bible is a God of love and deliverance.  He is the God Who makes a way when there seems to be no way.  He is the God of endless supply and endless possibilities.  He is the God Who loves us.

Why not look to Him and expect the help and resources that you need?  The promises you read in the Bible have no recession disclaimers attached to them.  What God has promised He is still able and willing to perform when men and women choose to believe Him.

Put your hope and expectation in the God of all creation, whose love for you, the Bible says, nothing can separate you from.  Put your confidence in the God of unlimited power and resources.  Put your trust in the God who has promised to bless you and supply all your need.

Shame on the preachers who blame God for everything and refuse to give people hope.  Read your Bible and believe it or get out of the pulpit.

I Woke Up This Morning

It’s Another Podcast!

I woke up this morning.  You might be thinking, “Yes, and…?  You might be expecting me to finish that sentence with something clever like, “I woke up this morning with a great idea!”  Well, no; I simply woke up.  That’s the whole sentence.

Does this seem too obvious to you?  I mean if you are reading this blog then you woke up too.  Okay, since we’re now both awake, why don’t you take a few minutes (4:51) and listen to this podcast, and then, try and remember it tomorrow morning when you wake up.

One Red Paper Clip

It’s Another Video!

You may have seen the video on today’s post on YouTube.  It has been viewed over 270,000 times.  But in case you haven’t, I thought it would be inspiring for you to see it.  The video reminds me of a number of posts about possibilities and solutions I have put on this blog.

I think this video is inspiring for more reasons than just Kyle attaining his goal.  There are two very important things that caught my attention.  I’ll mention those below the video player so that I don’t spoil it for you.  It’s short, about 8:22.

Enjoy the video.

There are two things that really impressed me in this video.  First, Kyle did not seem pressured or under stress trying to attain his goal.  I know we can’t see video of him every day during those months, but in what you can see, he seems to be very light hearted.

Secondly, you can see his genuine joy in someone else getting an item that they really wanted.  He was concerned with others being happy, not just reaching his own goal.

Contributing to other people’s happiness, and, living your life without fear of something going wrong, are two very good qualities of living life the right way.  I don’t know if Kyle is a praying man, or even if he is a Christian, but look what he did.

For those who have given up on their dreams, or, for those who feel that because of the current economy there are no solutions, think again.  What are the possibilities for your life as a Christian with God being your Father?

There are solutions, and, there are endless possibilities.
