HAVE YOU TRIED AND FAILED?

The Voice of Truth - An Inspiring Song

On many occasions I have tried and failed. I’m sure you have too. What is it that helps you get up and try again?

I believe the promises in the Bible are true. When I listen to the “voice of truth” I am encouraged to look up, get up, and move forward again, and again, and again! Mark Batterson in his book, The Circle Maker  said, “Logic screams, ‘No!’ Faith whispers, ‘Yes’”

Here’s an inspiring video from Casting Crowns album, Casting Crowns, titled, Voice of Truth.

WHAT ARE YOU AFRAID OF?

Being Afraid Happens To Everyone But You Don’t Have To Live With Fear

dark road

In the summer of 1989, I said, very positively, “I’m not afraid; I’m trusting God.” I had taught many times on not being afraid, had counseled countless people about trusting God and not being afraid. And now it was my turn to face fear.

It’s actually very easy to say, “I’m not afraid,” isn’t it?  It’s easy to just say the words and act “positive.” But just saying, “I’m not afraid,” doesn’t mean you’re not allowing fear to direct your life.

Sure, it’s easy peasy to trust God when everything’s going well.

Who You Gonna Trust?

It’s Another Podcast!

It was never the intention of the Founding Fathers to guarantee happiness for everyone.  Being happy and taken care of is not anyone’s birthright.  The intent of the Founders was rather to allow each individual’s pursuit of their own happiness.

I posted an article a couple of weeks ago about this topic and I thought I would share some of that with you in this short podcast (6:53).

Should our trust be in our God, taking responsibility for our own lives, or, should we look to and expect our government to take care of us?

We Are Reminded Every Day

sad-faceWhen was the last time you watched or listened to a news report and there was nothing reported about the economy?  Not only do we hear about the economy in every newscast, but in almost every conversation.  We are consistently reminded of how lousy the situation is.

Now if you choose to only focus on that information, you will be pretty discouraged, upset, afraid, angry, etc.  How can you stay positive and trust God when that’s all you hear every single day?

But, on the other hand, we all spend money on a regular basis, don’t we?  And there is a nice little reminder on every piece of currency that we have.  Most of the time we don’t even look at it or think about it.   We just pay the transaction and go on our merry way.

But why not stop and think about it for a moment or two?  “In God We Trust.”  Even if you are writing a check or using a debit card, those things represent money.  We can stop and remind ourselves that our trust is in our God.

Some may choose to continue to put their trust in the in-god-2government.  They will look to Uncle Sam to provide for them.  Everyone makes their own choices.

I would much rather put my trust in my Father, God, than in my Uncle San.  God has a proven track record that is impeccable.  Uncle Sam, well……

Mike

Moving Forward

There are some people who say God must have a reason why negative things are happening to them.  Others are waiting for God to “do something!”  Others float through life accepting everything that comes their way as the will of God.

Yes, of course we look to God for help and guidance,; we trust Him for His help.  But we must do our part. God expects us to use our oars!   This short video (2:09) is all about moving forward so that God can direct your path.

Enjoy the video.
