Why did I record this section of Scripture?
I recorded this section of Scripture because it speaks specifically to those who are born again! Many great Biblical scholars over the centuries have noted the great importance and significance these 7 Church epistles have for the born again believer!
It is both interesting and significant that in all the hundreds of Greek manuscripts of the New Testament, the order of these seven epistles is exactly the same, while the order of other New Testament books sometimes varies from manuscript to manuscript!
Bible students quickly notice these epistles are not chronological, and therefore realize holy men of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, not only wrote the content, but these are placed in the order God wanted them!
Martin Luther
Called by some as, “The foundation,” “The Magna Charta of Christianity,” “The starting point for the ‘all truth,’” the book of Romans so inspired Martin Luther in the 16th century, that he wrote:
“This letter is truly the most important piece in the New Testament. It is purest Gospel. It is well worth a Christian’s while not only to memorize it word for word but also to occupy himself with it daily, as though it were the daily bread of the soul. It is impossible to read or to meditate on this letter too much or too well. The more one deals with it, the more precious it becomes and the better it tastes.”
The Apostle Paul
These Church epistles were authored by God and written by revelation by the Apostle Paul. Shortly before Paul died, he wrote the following in II Timothy:
II Timothy 4:13:
The cloak that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments.
Many scholars believe that the “parchments” he spoke of in that verse refers to the seven Church epistles.
