I mentioned in an earlier “Nuggets,” that God’s very nature is love. The Bible says, God is love. The more we recognize how big God’s love really is, the easier it is to love others.

Our works and our worth have nothing to do with God loving us. God’s very nature is love. So again, the answer to why God loves you, is that love is His nature; God is love. And He is the One who initiated love! The Bible tells us that God first loved us. And nothing can separate us from His love.

Isn’t it awesome to consider God’s love for you and me is unconditional and never ending? People, on the other hand, at times find themselves no longer loving someone they once loved. There are no guarantees when it comes to people loving people, but with God, His love remains constant; it does not change.

That doesn’t mean God loves all of the things people do; He does not. He knows things we do that are not right are bad choices that produce lousy consequences. Yet, nothing can separate us from His love. Isn’t that a bit overwhelming to you?

So, what about when we do something that is not right? Then what? In the next “Love Nuggets” you’ll see that love is the reason God forgives us.
