It seems like May is full of personal dates for me, including my birthday!

I thought this Beatles tune, a, “Paul only” rendition was fitting for today.

Happy 43rd!

Kathy 1971

Today’s post is personal.

This picture has been in my wallet for 43 years.

It was in the local news paper announcing Kathy’s engagement to me, back in 1971.

Today we celebrate 43 years of marriage.

I am very grateful to God for blessing my life with such an amazing woman.

Happy 43rd, Kathy; I love you!

man thinking

I live in Glendale, Arizona, a suburb of Phoenix.  May is here at that means triple digits are right around the corner.  The hot weather begins around the middle of May and triple digit temperatures usually last until mid October.

I’ve been here 22 years and the hot weather is certainly no surprise. So why do any of us, including myself at times, complain about it? None of us who live here, either individually or collectively, can change this desert climate. So why complain about how hot it is?

What Bugs You?

I wonder how many things in our lives we allow to upset us that we have no control over. The weather is an obvious one. How about traffic lights?

Easter 2014

It was on a Sunday morning. over 2,000 years ago, when an angel uttered those three words: He Is Risen!

This coming Sunday believers around the world celebrate the cornerstone of Christianity: the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

Once again, as in the past, for this week leading up to Easter 2014, I have some

This article addresses those times in our past that were not good, and how to get rid of those memories. I offer the greatest thing I know on how to eliminate defeating thoughts of the past. I have applied this information in my life many times and it has helped me greatly.

Everyone faces challenging times in their lives. Sometimes they are small; other times they are huge. It’s true, life has it’s ups and downs; it’s highs and lows. Sometimes, the low points can be overwhelming.

You and I could sit around and talk about our past – the good and the bad, the highs and the lows. The bad times would

Are You Being True To Yourself?

Be yourself. Books are written about it. Methods are taught about it. Many self help speeches include something about it.

It seems logical to me that if I’m going to be true to myself, I need to know who I am, right? Okay, let’s pause here for a second.

Who Motivates You?

Have you ever said, “That person really motivates me?” Maybe you read a book or an article, or maybe attended a meeting, and as a result, felt inspired to take action. Does what you hear, see or read motivate you, or do we motivate ourselves?

Certainly others inspire us and get us to consider possibilities. That has certainly been the case in my life over the years. But no one takes any action without

What Are You Doing Today?

Sunrise today I willThere’s the past. There’s the future. And then, there’s right now, the present.

We can look back at our past and wish we would have done things differently, or think about the future and say what we’re going to do, but the present is the only time we can do anything. Seize the moment, for this moment will soon be the past.

I can look back on my past and certainly see things I would do differently today. But once I’ve learned the lesson, I choose to
