Are All Government Leaders Really Appointed By God?
Here in the United States, our Presidential election is right around the corner. This election has been and continues to be the dominant topic, not only on the news and social media, but almost everywhere you go. It seems the country is solidly divided.
Regardless of who is elected the next president of the United States, you can be sure of one thing. Half of the country will be utterly disappointed, while the other half will be beaming with glee. And, with very different agendas proposed by each candidate, the winner will endeavor to set their course for the United States.
I rarely comment on politics on this blog, but I thought with all the discourse flying in every direction these days, a comment about government leaders might be in order.
It’s very encouraging and inspiring. My favorite line in the chorus is, “My seasons change; You stay the same.”

3 Great keys On How To Change Something In Your Life
Sometimes situations force us to make changes. At other times, we get so tired of our current results that we initiate the change. Sometimes in life we know we need to change, but just refuse to change.
Why do we resist change?
At times in life, we recognize the need for change. Perhaps we see it or someone else points it out to us. But, we all know too well that nothing ever changes by simply recognizing a need for change.
I saw a cool quote from Zig Ziglar recently. Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Zig quote I didn’t like. Once again, this one hit the mark: “Miserable people focus on the things they hate about their life. Happy people focus on the things they love about their life.”

For me, it’s just as inspiring today as it was 15 years ago. How about you?
We have a 7-year-old flat top stove. The other day it quit – all four burners. Poof. Done.
Instead of spending more money fixing it, like we did two years ago, we found a really good deal for a new one. They came and installed the new stove, and I’m back to being spoiled by my wife’s fabulous cooking.

We’ve all experienced the results of a bad choice. Most of the time when it happens, our resolve is to “not do that again.” But so many times we fail to realize what caused the bad choice in the first place.

This is the information age, and millions of people get tons of information every day on the Internet. It’s fast and easy to search for what you’re looking for. And you don’t even have to be sitting at your computer; you can even verbally ask the app on your smartphone a question!
Many times at the office where I work, I opt to get an answer I need from the Internet rather than call customer service. Years ago, needing an answer, my boss said, “Just Google it.” So often when calling for support on the phone, you have to endure all the prompts, then have to wait a long time in line, and then finally you get to speak to someone who might not speak English very well.

I was talking with someone recently who found out his job is coming to an end. The company he works for is closing their doors. That’s certainly an unsettling situation to find yourself in, right?
At one point he said, “Well, sometimes God brings bad things to you in order to bring you something good.” That brought to my mind several statements we’ve all heard from time to time. One of the most popular is, “God has a reason.”
I told him I do believe God can close one door and open another door. I’ve seen that happen in my life many times. In fact, on a few occasions, I ignored a closed door and the results were not very pleasant.
