The Election Is Over; Their Service Continues
Veterans Day is this Friday, November 11th.
Veterans Day is an official United States public holiday, observed annually on November 11, that honors military veterans, that is, persons who are serving or have served in the United States Armed Forces.
It coincides with other holidays, including Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, celebrated in other countries that mark the anniversary of the end of World War I; major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, when the Armistice with Germany went into effect.
The United States previously observed Armistice Day. The U.S. holiday was renamed Veterans Day in 1954.
We owe all those who have ever served and are currently serving a tremendous debt of gratitude. Always thank a Vet, especially on Veterans Day.

Are All Government Leaders Really Appointed By God?
Here in the United States, our Presidential election is right around the corner. This election has been and continues to be the dominant topic, not only on the news and social media, but almost everywhere you go. It seems the country is solidly divided.
Regardless of who is elected the next president of the United States, you can be sure of one thing. Half of the country will be utterly disappointed, while the other half will be beaming with glee. And, with very different agendas proposed by each candidate, the winner will endeavor to set their course for the United States.
I rarely comment on politics on this blog, but I thought with all the discourse flying in every direction these days, a comment about government leaders might be in order.

Sometimes situations force us to make changes. At other times, we get so tired of our current results that we initiate the change. Sometimes in life we know we need to change, but just refuse to change.
Why do we resist change?
At times in life, we recognize the need for change. Perhaps we see it or someone else points it out to us. But, we all know too well that nothing ever changes by simply recognizing a need for change.

Powerful Song Then; Still Powerful Today
On September 11, 2001, our country came together, and all American lives mattered!
I posted this last year, and it’s still a powerful song.
Alan Jackson first performed this song, November 7, 2001, barely two months after 9/11, at the CMA Awards. Ten years later, he talked about how he came to write the song.
For me, it’s just as inspiring today as it was 15 years ago. How about you?

Your Focus And Attention Really Does Matter!
We have a 7-year-old flat top stove. The other day it quit – all four burners. Poof. Done.
Instead of spending more money fixing it, like we did two years ago, we found a really good deal for a new one. They came and installed the new stove, and I’m back to being spoiled by my wife’s fabulous cooking.
End of story, right? Yes. But, I could have mentioned
