MOTHER’S DAY 2020

rose - 1Happy Mother’s Day to all Moms!

In these strange and unprecedented days, some moms will not be with their children on Mother’s Day.  Yes, some will be able to see mom via video, but it’s not the same as hugging mom, is it?  And,, since last Mother’s Day, some moms are no longer with us.

But, I’m still very glad there is a day set aside to honor moms.

I’m re-posting the following for Mother’s Day, because
Mom’s are very, very special!  If you like it, share it with someone!

MOM

Some governments use the word “ministry” to describe various functions, like ministry of finance, or ministry of education. The word “ministry” means service. Therefore, the minister of education would be one who serves the country with regards to education.

I believe being a mom is a ministry, a very, very unique service.

No woman can ever study hard enough or prepare long enough to be ready to be a mom. Moms surely need God’s gracious help and encouragement with the responsibilities and challenges.

It actually begins nine months before she is

A NEW TAB

There’s a new tab on this blog called, “Recent Teachings.” That tab will bring you to a page with some selected teachings from our weekly fellowship in Glendale. While these teachings are very practical in these days of the 2020 pandemic, they are also very helpful regarding trusting God during any challenge.

Also, by selecting the “Stories for Joshua” tab, you will find information on getting the entire series, all 12 volumes, including workbooks, on 1 flash drive.

God bless you,
Mike

HE IS RISEN!

God Raised Jesus Christ From The Dead!

Even as a stunned world tries to cope with social distancing during this crisis, the words of the angel at the tomb over two thousand years ago still ring loud and clear: “He Is Risen!”

And on that glorious day, the angel rolled away the stone, not so Jesus could get out, but so others could look in.  “He Is Risen!”

Before he died, Jesus cried out, “It Is Finished!”  After three days and three nights, God Almighty raised him from the dead. “He Is Risen!”  Today, believers around the world joyfully remember and celebrate the foundation of Christianity: the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God!

Below, are two music videos, followed by a  short YouTube video of mine, and a couple of short 7 minute podcasts, I posted a number of years ago.

Rejoice! He Is Risen! And, He Is Coming Back!

How Brutal Was It?   (Video)
A short video with three different versions of Isaiah 52:14, a verse that graphically prophesied the results of the extreme physical punishment the Messiah would endure for all of mankind.

The Women Found Out First
A short 7 minute podcast about a very unique, and mostly overlooked point concerning the resurrection of Jesus Christ, that few notice or mention.

3 Words   (Podcast)
A short podcast (under 7 minutes) about 3 words spoken on two different occasions.

Rejoice! He Is Risen! And, He Is Coming Back!

Accessing God’s Protection

How To Access God’s Protection

The Bible speaks of God’s magnificent protection.  This past Sunday, on our “conference call” fellowship, we looked at Psalm 91. This Psalm not only shows God’s protection, but how to access it. Very timely for the days we are living in today! The recording of that teaching is below.

COVID-19: WHAT CAN YOU DO?

Some Practical And Timely Solutions For The Days We Are Living In

For nearly 28 years we have hosted a Bible Fellowship in our home. But with the Covid-19 restrictions, like many other fellowships and churches, yesterday was a virtual meeting via phone conferencing.

Below, you can listen to the teaching portion of our meeting –  it is both very practical and very timely for the days we live in. It is titled, Now What?

God bless you, and stay safe!

ARE YOU AFRAID?

You Don’t Have To Live With Fear!

In the summer of 1989, I said, very positively, “I’m not afraid; I’m trusting God.” I had taught many times on not being afraid, had counseled countless people about trusting God and not being afraid. And now it was my turn to face fear.

It’s actually very easy to simply say, “I’m not afraid.” It’s easy to just say the words and act “positive.” But just saying, “I’m not afraid,” doesn’t mean you’re not allowing fear to direct your life.

It’s also easy to trust God when everything is going well. But when a storm in life hits you right in the face, it can bring doubts, uncertainty, worry, and fear. This wasn’t the first time or the last time I had to decide I was either going to allow fear to direct my life, or trust God for His help.

WHAT’S IN YOUR PAST?

God's Arms Of Forgiveness Are Always Open!

The message in the short video below, that I posted several years ago, is worth repeating, over and over and over.

Feelings of guilt, condemnation, sin consciousness, unworthiness, and shame  always keep us from going to God to receive His forgiveness.

Because of past mistakes, some people feel there is no way God could ever forgive them. Nothing could be further from the truth. God’s arms are always open; God’s love and forgiveness are available for you, right now!

WHAT KIND OF LOVE IS THIS?

The Greatest Love Ever!

Hearts are everywhere!  Love is in the air!  ‘Tis the season for love!

February 14th is called, “Valentine’s Day.” For lots of folks, it’s a time to express love for your special someone. Flowers, candy, balloons, jewelry – ahh, love is in the air.

Money spent in the U.S. last year was around 20.7 billion dollars! But wait! This year’s projections are at over 27 billion dollars! Even though less people celebrate this “holiday” every year, those who do are spending more. In fact, last year, for Valentine’s Day, people spent a whooping

IT’S ALL ABOUT TIME

How Will You Spend Your Time This Year?

Each day we each allotted the same amount of time: 1,440 minutes. If one utilizes their time wisely it’s often called “time well spent.” Unwisely? Some would say “wasting time.” Regardless, each day, everyone decides how to spend their time.

Isn’t it interesting how many phrases we employ with the word “time?” Quality time, summer time, spring time, down time, time to relax, screen time, me time, and the list goes on and on. In some sports, like football and basketball, when they stop playing it’s called a “time out,” and the pause in the middle of the game is called “half time.”

When I was in radio, my shift was technically called

A NEW YEAR – 2020 IS HERE!

Do You Remember The Blessings From 2019?

It’s the start of a New Year! Are you hoping your life to be better in 2020 than it was in 2019?

When a difficult and challenging year ends, it is all too easy to remember what one has endured.  Phrases like, “I’m glad this year is over,” as well as, “I hope this New Year is a lot better,” are common.

Yes indeed, starting a New Year with anticipation for a better year is a good idea.  Writing down goals or resolutions along with an action plan for the coming New Year is a good, positive strategy for the days ahead. Reviewing them throughout the year keeps one focused and on track, especially if
