I want to make this blog better and more relevant to your needs and interests. I need to know more about you! To do that, I’m posting my 2015 Reader Survey.

Would you please take a few minutes to fill out the survey? By doing so, you will ultimately be helping yourself. Why? Because you will be helping me produce content even more interesting and relevant to you.

Your input is important to me. The survey is easy to fill out, and the results are completely anonymous. I can’t tell who said what. And you can finish in five minutes or less!

Thanks in advance for your help.  In a few weeks I’ll post results from the survey.

Are You Serving Others, Or Yourself?

Do I really care about people? Do you really care about people? It was very clear to me.

Recently, in one week, I listened to four different vendors present their services to us in hopes our company would purchase. They included online accounting, business upgrade banking, company credit card tracking, and office essential services. As office manager,

Mom’s Day!

Today, I am wishing all mom’s a very Happy Mother’s Day!  May your special day be filled with joy!

For me, it’s been nearly 3 months.  This is the first time I am not able to wish my mom a Happy Mother’s Day.  She is resting in peace.

So,

Last Sunday, Kathy and I were on the Gulf Coast, in Pensacola Florida; it brought back a lot of memories. Recently married we moved near to Pensacola in late 1971. It was our first time back since moving away in 1973.

I was there to perform a wedding. Being in the area we lived as a newlyweds years ago brought up lots of

Is God Really Willing?

is He really

It was March, 1977; my daughter was three months old. I stood at her crib, convinced of God’s great ability to heal her, but wavering some on His willingness to hear and answer my prayer. I knew He could, but I was hoping He was willing to heal her stomach issues so she would not need surgery.

Most of us recognize, accept and believe God’s awesome power and ability. We readily agree and believe that there is nothing too hard or too big for God. But, is He is really willing to do it for me, personally?

Killing Jesus

We haven’t read the book by the same title, but last weekend, Kathy and I decided to watch National Geographic’s movie adaptation of Bill O’Reilly’s book, Killing Jesus. Throughout the movie, we exchanged many matching raised eyebrow glances. While better than some movies based on the Bible, I was disappointed.

Are we really to believe at the point of Jesus’s baptism in Jordan he was still

Is He Really Listening To You?

While our newborn was in her crib in the next room, I remember lying in bed with my wife. “She’s asleep,” we would tell each other, and then I nodded off to sleep.

In the morning, with half shut eyes and wild hair, I asked, “Did she sleep all night?” A tired mother looked back at me with disbelief: “How did you not hear her at 2, and again at 4?”

The truth is,

Easter 2015

sunrise

On a Sunday morning. over 2,000 years ago, an angel uttered three words that continue to reverberate to this day: He Is Risen!

This coming Sunday believers around the world celebrate the cornerstone of Christianity: the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God!

For this week leading up to Easter 2015, I have some

You’re Alive!

The past four weeks have been challenging.  I have attended 3 funerals; two for friends’ moms, and the other, my own mom’s funeral. It has been a time of sorrow.

In addition to sadness and loss, these past few weeks are a stark reminder of mortality; not just mine, but all of ours.  Of course there is a great day coming, the day of Jesus Christ, but it hasn’t happened yet. And if God does not send His Son for another 150 years,
