In this second Love Nuggets post, more on God’s love toward us. As Christians, we are taught to love others. Sometimes that’s easy, sometimes it’s not so easy. Sometimes it is much easier to judge and condemn. But as I mentioned in the previous post, the more you understand and believe just how much God loves you and what He’s done for you, the easier it is to love every one else.

In the book of Ephesians, we read that our salvation is not because of our good works. We are saved by God’s grace because He is rich in mercy, and because of His great love for us, even when we were dead in sins.

In the book of Romans we learn that God commended His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans also states that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our lord! That is huge.

Nothing can separate us from God’s love! Nothing you do, or don’t do, can ever change God’s love for you. How about we take that one step further?

On your worst day, does God love you any less than He did the day before? No! On your best day ever, does He love you more than He did the day before. No! In the book of James we learn that God does not waver or change. God’s love remains the same to you and me, and nothing can ever separate us from His love!

Do you not find this a little overwhelming? I do, because I know I am not worthy of God’s love; I know I have not come close to earning His love. But works and worth have nothing to do with it. God’s very nature is love. His motivation for sending His Son was love. And when we got saved, born again, the Bible says the love of God was shed abroad in our hearts.
